TN to award contract for phase-II of Chennai ORR

To construct phase-II of Chennai Outer Ring Road, from Nemilichery to Minjur, the Tamil Nadu government has recently given its nod to a consortium of Ashoka Buildcon and GVR Infra Projects. Work on phase-I of the ORR, from Vandalur to Nemilichery, is nearing completion. On completion, the 61.65-km-long road will form a semicircle around the city and help decongest Chennai?s roads. It will act as a major link and connect four national highways ? NH 4, NH 5, NH 45 and NH 205.

Chennai's multi-crore road project faces more delays

A delay by Chennai Metrowater in shifting water main line running beneath Manali Oil Refinery Road (MORR), is threatening to push the deadline of the Rs 600-crore Ennore-Manali Road Improvement Project in north Chennai. The project envisages widening of four arterial roads in the northern neighbourhoods. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said the body had paid Metrowater to shift the line and the water agency had already laid a new line.
